Explore new worlds: Fiction games
Video games are everywhere and roughly 3.5 billion people play them. Roughly 65% of that is in the United States alone. Did you know though that they are actually good for you as well? A study ran in 2022 by https://www.nih.gov/news-events/news-releases/video-gaming-may-be-associated-better-cognitive-performance-children proves this point by say "A study of nearly 2,000 children found that those who reported playing video games for three hours per day or more performed better on cognitive skills tests involving impulse control and working memory compared to children who had never played video games." Which then led to it being backed by 'National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and other entities of the National Institutes of Health." That being said there is a lot more to video games that some never realize.

Benefits of gaming
Like the other subcategories of fiction games hold benifits. Fiction helps with empathy, stress , problem solving and creativity. Most video games fall under fiction its hard to find nonfiction games. Expecally ones that are fun to play and hold kids attentions. Acorrsding to https://jcls.org/2023/05/09/video-games-literacy-and-visual-novels/ "In fact, studies show that video games can help children improve their reading skills. Reading relies on language abilities and other abilities such as memory, inhibitory control (which just means being able to control your attention), and cognitive flexibility (which just means the ability to switch between tasks). "

Fiction games are good.
Fiction games take you on an adventure that nonfiction can`t. Nonfictions known for real world and real world information not for making things up. So you won't find a nonfiction game that talks of elves fighting dragons. Leading to fictions known for taking you to a safe place and relieving stress. People are more prone for relaxing and going to a safe place when it's something that holds your focus and is full of creativity. Both do relieve stress in peoples lives by playing games.though this is all based on gamers preference not studied. Nofictions are used in critical thinking so solving problems in games. I do believe gaming fiction also makes you use your critical thinking skills. For example deciding where to launch your fire shooter or dragons to win the war.

Fiction worlds better
I find fiction video games hold my attention longer than nonfiction video games. I would much rather be running though a castle shooting elves than on the organ trail. Most of the time unless it's for homework or a school activity I have no interest in staying in the real world or learning information. I want to escape my everyday life and problems while gaming and let go of my stress. I also want to use my creativity and build not ride my death on the titanic or learn mathematics. This is why I believe fiction video games and fiction in general is better and shouldn't be forgotten.
